3-1-1 Resident Response System
The Village of Romeoville is proud to announce the implementation of the new 3-1-1 customer service calling center. The new 3-1-1 system will enable residents to report non-emergency matters. The system gives local government the ability to respond to residents’ requests in a more systematic fashion and to use the data gathered for planning purposes. The 3-1-1 service will compliment the e-Government website service which provides an easy way for residents and businesses to make suggestions, request information, and/or request action online. If residents are unable to find an appropriate service request category on our website or have difficulty entering a request, they should contact 3-1-1. Our guest service staff will be happy to assist the residents in a professional manner. Residents with emergencies should still call 9-1-1. (Note: Cell phone users will not be able to use this service at this time.)
What You Can Do To Control Mosquitos
Mosquitoes are an all too familiar summer nuisance. Not only are they annoying, they can also transmit encephalitis, malaria, and yellow fever to humans, and heartworm to pets.
You can take simple, positive steps to reduce this menace right at home.
Remove all standing water. Adult flying mosquitoes often rest in tall grass and shrubbery, but they cannot develop there. All mosquitoes need water to complete their life cycle. Some mosquitoes lay their eggs in standing water where they hatch in just a day or two. Other mosquitoes may lay their eggs in old tires, tin cans, or other water-holding containers. The eggs may remain unhatched for weeks or even months until they are covered with water!

U.S. Census 2010
In these tough economic times you might need extra income or know
someone who does. The U.S. census bureau started this month to interview,
test and hire census takers. Most of the work will take place in the first
half of 2010.
Mission Statement
The village in partnership with our citizens, schools, employees, and businesses, is dedicated to providing a foundation which enhances the quality of life throughout the community. This will be achieved through trust, honesty, integrity and commitment.
Go Green Tip
Get Energy Audited
The single most polluting industry in the United States is electricity production. Chances are, your home is using up more energy than it needs to keep your residence running. To find out just where that extra energy is going, conduct a home energy audit. Visit the U.S. Department of Energy's Home Energy Audit page for a detailed do-it-yourself. The Department of Energy also offers tips on finding a qualified contractor to perform the audit for you.
