1. Citizens Police Academy

The Romeoville Police Department sponsors two Citizen Police Academy classes per year. One class in the Spring and one class in the Fall. Each class runs 12 weeks and is held at the Police Department one night per week. The Citizens Police Academy classes instruct attendees on various law enforcement topics including criminal law, traffic stops and enforcement, and many other areas. While not a certification course, the Citizens Police Academy class gives students a basic understanding of current police practices in a wide range of areas.

  2. Neighbors Helping Neighbors

Provides assistance to residents of the community with the help of volunteers.

  3. Youth Police Academy

The Romeoville Police Youth Academy is a free one-week program held at the Romeoville Police Department (RPD) once every June. The program is designed to help young people explore career and leadership opportunities, life skills and character education. Participants ages 15-17 will learn the many skills needed to be successful police officers in today's world through daily classroom instruction, role playing and practical exercises.
