O'Hara Woods Community Restoration Day

Saturday, September 26, 2020

The Conservation Foundation and the Village of Romeoville are hosting a Community Restoration Day at O’Hara Woods Nature Preserve on September 26, 2020 in celebration of National Public Lands Day. Restoration activities will run from 9 – 11 a.m. and are suitable for families with children. We have lots of space to spread out and remain physically distanced. Activities will include cutting and dragging brush for chipping and trash pick-up – no experience needed. All volunteers will be provided with new gloves and safety glasses that they can keep and sanitized tools to use for the duration of the workday. Masks will be required in the staging area and anywhere that 6-foot distancing cannot be maintained. Please dress for the weather and wear closed-toed shoes – long pants are recommended. The event will be coordinated from the parking lot off Beverly J. Griffin Drive next to Lake Strini. Event check-in and updates can be found at Friends of O’Hara Woods Facebook page.
