Blue Chip Commerce, the operators of basketball tournaments and One Day Shootouts, have reached an agreement with Romeoville to lease the basketball courts 49 weekends per year for the next three years at the Edward Hospital Athletic & Event Center. Blue Chip is one of the largest basketball tournament providers in the Midwest. Even during these tournaments, the Village will still have space to offer other programs and events at the center.
“The Edward Hospital Athletic Center continues to be in great demand,” explained Mayor John Noak. “Tournaments like this give local athletes the opportunity to showcase their talent against top tier competitors. In addition, these events bring visitors from around the region which also support our local businesses.”
The Edward Hospital Athletic & Event Center is 76,000 square feet of turf, courts, meeting space, party rooms, and expo space housed in an award winning building. The center is owned and operated by the Village of Romeoville. It hosts numerous sports tournaments throughout the year, holds open gym for the community, and has already partnered with three youth sports development programs. If you’d like to book space for meetings, events, tournaments, or practices or have questions, you can reach them at 815-552-3283.
