The Romeoville Area Historical Society is ready to re-open its doors to the public. They moved out of the NWCSRA building at 10 Montrose and into their own remodeled Hampton Park house at 14 Belmont Drive, which will be known as the James P. Sczepaniak Museum. They will celebrate the occasion with a ribbon cutting on Saturday, June 8 at 1:00 p.m.

“The Historical Society has been gathering and preserving our community’s history for decades,” pointed out Mayor John Noak, “Now the community can come to a dedicated museum to see and learn about our past.”

The James P. Sczepaniak Museum will showcase various artifacts and allow patrons to dig through museum archives for information on people and events of Romeoville’s past. They are open on Tuesdays from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m., Wednesdays from 1 p.m. – 4 p.m., the 3rd Saturday of the month from 1 p.m. – 4 p.m. or by appointment.
