The Village of Romeoville is once again offering an Economic Support Grant to their business community. The grant aims to provide assistance to local restaurants that have had business interruptions due to COVID-19 related closures. Grants in the amount of $5,000 and $7,500 (depending on category) will be given to qualifying businesses.

To be eligible for a grant, businesses must meet the following requirements:

Grants of $5,000 (Max grants given $100,000)

• Must be a Romeoville restaurant/bar.

• Must have been impacted by the COVID-19 closure of August 26 – September 18.

• Must have a current/valid Village of Romeoville Business License.

• Must be current on local taxes (food & beverage as of June 1, 2020).

• National Chains must be franchisee owned, and who own less than three franchises.

• Business must remain open through December 31, 2020 based on the State of IllinoisGuidelines.

• Must have less than $1,500,000 in sales for the 2019 tax year (tax return or audited financial statement required for verification)

• Applicants must certify they are not being reimbursed directly or indirectly by another local,state or federal program or non-governmental source of funds.

• Establishments that are solely Video Poker do not qualify.

• Preference will be given to establishments that do not have drive through facilities and have a majority of sales via pick up, not through delivery.

Grants of $7,500 (Max Grants $52,500) for Banquet Facilities:

• Must be a Romeoville restaurant/bar 

• Must have been impacted by the COVID-19 closure of August 26 – September 18 

• Must have a current/valid Village of Romeoville Business License 

• Must be current on local taxes (food & beverage as of June 1, 2020) 

• National Chains must be franchisee owned, and own less than three franchises 

• Business must remain open through December 31, 2020 based on the State of Illinois Guidelines 

• Must have banquet facilities for 50 or more people 

• Applicants must certify they are not being reimbursed directly or indirectly by another local, state or federal program or non-governmental source of funds.

Establishments cannot qualify for both grants. Applications will be accepted between October 26 and November 20. Submissions will be approved based on the order in which they were received and until funding has been expended. There is currently $152,500 available. Funds will be distributed by December 11.
