The intersection of Route 53 and Phelps Ave. will soon be getting three new businesses, continuing the string of commercial growth in Romeoville.
Checkers has submitted plans for a new restaurant on the site of the old Laser Car Wash. The 1,017 square foot drive-thru should open this winter.
The former location of Fat Ricky’s will soon become El Comedor Express, a Mexican restaurant. Also opening in the same commercial center is Lucky Penny’s.
“The ongoing redevelopment of this section of Romeoville is exciting,” commented Mayor Noak.
The area has recently seen the opening of the new BMO Harris Bank, Subway, Romeoville Dental, Mity Nails, Fat Ricky’s, and Franconi’s Italian Grocery. It’s all part of the greater plan for Uptown Square.
