The Village of Romeoville’s Parks and Recreation Department held a Party in Pink™ Zumbathon™ on Friday, October 20 at the Rec Center. The two hour dance event raised over $500 with 28 participants decked out in pink fitness attire. The funds raised will go to the Susan G. Komen foundation as a part of the national campaign by Zumba™. “Our Zumba instructors approached us with the idea of hosting this event. They put in all the work to promote it and gather donations,” stated Kelly Rajzer, Director of Parks and Recreation. “This event is exactly what we want to do – support the community and offer a fun way to do some good.” The Recreation Department offers a dozen Zumba classes at various times five days a week.
