The Romeoville Tumbleweeds Gymnastics Team competed in their first AAU/GIJO meet of the season at the Eola Community Center on Saturday and Sunday, December 16-17. Each team did very well for the first competition; Level 3 took 4th place and Level 6 brought home 2nd place. The coaches were especially excited about Levels 2, 4, and 5 all bringing home 1st Place for their divisions. A few individual gymnasts took home first place for All-Around Gymnast in their respective age groups including Mia Maglaya (level 6), McKenzie Buchanan (level 5), Alejandra Rivas (level 5), Arely Arreaga (level 4), and Emily Pachciarz (level 2). The Romeoville Tumbleweeds is the all-female competitive gymnastics team based out of the Romeoville Parks and Recreation Department. Their next meet is The Frozen Invite hosted by Elmhurst Gymnastics Center at York High School on Sunday, January 21, 2018.
