Youth Dance Programs


Poms - Wednesdays from 5:45-6:45pm
Prepare your dancer for middle and high school dance teams! Learn sharp, clean motions for the floor, pom combinations, jumps, leaps, turns, and skills that are required by dance teams.
Age: 5 to 11   Fee: $72/R - $98/NR    2/14 - 3/28

Hip Hop - Wednesdays from 4:45-5:45pm

Learn to dance to popular hip hop music! The studio uses common sense with song content and age-appropriateness. Gym shoes are appropriate for class.
Age: 5 to 16   Fee: $59/R - $89/NR

Ballet/Tap - Thursdays from 4:15m - 5:00pm & Saturdays from 9:45-10:30am
This class gives students an introduction to classical ballet and tap. Students will start with ballet and finish the class in their tap shoes.

Kinder Kids - Thursdays from 5:15pm - 6:00pm
This remarkable, high energy and educational program enhances critical thinking and public speaking skills while boosting self esteem!  We develop leaders through drama techniques like improvisation, character analysis, creative movement, mini-scripts, and games.

Drama Kids - Thursdays from 5:15pm - 6:15pm
Drama Kids offers lessons including improvisation, character analysis, creative movement, mini-scripts and theater games.  If you want your child to get a jump on achievement both personally and academically, enroll them today and see why ‘The Difference is DRAMATIC!’

Cartoon Kids - Wednesdays from 6:00pm - 7:00pm    SIGN UP BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE!   
Do you love to watch cartoons? Now participants can make their very own! In Cartoon Kids, participants will learn how to draw their favorite characters, then how to draw their very own cartoons. Students will create comic flipbooks to show off their new skills. Learn about character design, storyboarding, and drawing in this brand new class!

Dinosaurs - RESCHEDULED Wednesday from 5:00-5:45pm   No Long Commitment with a 1-Day Class!
Live dangerously and look at some dinosaur teeth up close. Junior paleontologists will participate in a miniature dinosaur dig and make our very own replica of a dinosaur tooth. Register ASAP!

Fun in the Sun American Girl Doll - 6:30pm - 7:30pm      No Long Commitment with a 1-Day Class!
Grab your American Girl Doll (or another doll in similar size) and imagine being on vacation while listening to tropical music, decorating an adorable vacation outfit with matching ribbons, clips, and sparkle jewelry. Design an awesome beach bag to carry her belongings. Children aged 3-5 years must bring a parent along.

St. Paddy’s Day Cake Decorating - 6:30pm - 7:30pm      No Long Commitment with a 1-Day Class!
Join us for a fun new class decorating the perfect St. Paddy’s Day cake, cupcakes, cake box, and chef’s hat that participants get to take home! Our celebration will include all the toppings, frostings, candy, and decorations to make your own special masterpiece. This is a perfect class for any aged child. Participants age 3-5 must bring a parent to assist.

Romeoville and Lockport Township Join Together to Offer a Community Garden — Registration is Beginning Soon at the Romeoville Recreation Center.

The Cooperative Community Gardens Program is a joint effort between Romeoville Parks & Recreation Department and the Lockport Township Park District. This program was developed to serve both communities at Sunset Park (729 Murphy Drive) which is located in Romeoville, with the garden being maintained by Romeoville and the park being maintained by Lockport Township Park District. Both organizations teamed up to offer plots that residents can grow healthy fruits and vegetables for their families.

Residents of Romeoville and Lockport Township can reserve 10’ by 10’ plots beginning Monday, February 5, for $20 (Non Resident registration begins February 12, and is $40) at the Romeoville Recreation Department. Returning Renters can reserve plots beginning 2/1 (until 2/5).

Introduce Your Child to Organized Sports!


Sportskids Hitting & Pitcher/Catcher Techniques - 2/12 - 3/12 4:45pm - 5:30pm on Mondays
Prepare for the upcoming baseball and softball seasons.  Swing analysis, live pitching and other techniques are a part of this program. The advanced, intermediate and beginner hitters can all benefit from this step-by-step approach to learning.  Pitchers work on the form needed to increase the speed of the fastball and protect their throwing arm.  Boys learn the rocker step for pitching as well as various age appropriate grips.  Girls learn the windmill form of pitching and different grips.  Catchers are taught how to help get strike calls for their team.  Different techniques to throw out base runners are also included.  Fielding pop-ups, balls in the dirt and bunts with the proper form can catch any coach’s attention.  Bring a mitt, bat and labeled water bottle.
Age: 7 to 10   Fee: $38/R - $57/NR

Sports Kids T-Ball Training - 2/12 - 3/12 4:00pm - 4:45pm on Mondays
Participants will learn the basic fundamentals used in baseball such as running the bases, throwing, catching and fielding as well as the skills to hit the ball off a tee and maybe live pitching. Exciting drills and games will help children learn about teamwork and good sportsmanship in an atmosphere where participation and fun are top priority.  Each participant should bring a water bottle and mitt.
Age: 4 to 6   Fee: $38/R - $57/NR    

Baseball Season Begins in April! Season runs 4/2 - 6/30


Practices start April 2nd   -   Opening day is May 5th   -   End of season T-ball parade is June 30th
This program needs volunteer coaches at all levels to be successful. Become a volunteer coach today — contact Jason at 815.8866222!    

Little Tee’s T-ball  Age: 4 to 5  
Little Tee’s is for players who have never played t-ball before or youth under the age of five years old.  This program is entirely instructional.  Players will hit off a tee for most of the 10 game season and gradually move to a coach pitch format during the last three games.  Players will receive a uniform and trophy.  Scores and standings will not be kept.  Practices will begin the first week of April.

Little Ball  Age: 5 to 6
Little Ball is for players who have been in the program at least one year.  This program emphasizes fundamentals and prepares players for the next level of baseball.  Teams will play 10-12 games and start with a tee to develop timing. As the season progresses, they will move to a coach pitch (three-out) format. There is no draft; coaches and the Athletic Supervisor will organize teams.  Practices will start the first week of April. Cost includes uniform and trophy.

Coach Pitch  Age: 6 to 7  
The coach pitch league is for players that want to continue to learn the fundamentals of the game using the three-out format. There is no draft for players to attend; coaches and the Athletic Supervisor will organize teams. Practices will start the first week of April. Cost includes uniform and trophy.
