At tonight’s Village Board Meeting, a new 2,048 square foot Taco Bell restaurant with a drive-through was proposed for the southeast corner of Route 53 and Greenwood. It is directly south of the McDonalds. The space, which is currently a vacant lot, would sport 19 parking spaces and a dual order menu board in the drive-thru with room to stack 10 cars.
“This is just the latest in a flurry of developments on Route 53,” pointed out Mayor John Noak. “The aquatic center, Jimmy Johns, Starbucks, a retail building, and now Taco Bell are all going up on historic Route 66.”
A future road connection to the retail building to the south of Taco Bell was also proposed.
