Building
The Building Division ensures that all new construction and private improvements are in compliance with the buildings codes utilized by the Village of Romeoville. It also coordinates building permits and on-site inspections of all remodeling, new residential, commercial, and industrial construction within the community. Building permits and inspections are required for most home improvements or additions.
Office Hours
The offices are open Monday through Friday 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Construction Hours
Construction can only occur between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Inspections
Please call 815-886-7203 or email (48) forty-eight hours in advance to schedule an inspection. For scheduling proposes all requests will not be accepted after 1:00 P.M. The following information is required when scheduling:
- Project Permit Number
- Subdivision Name
- Address
- Type of Inspection being requested
- Contact name
- Contact telephone number
Please be advised, inspections are scheduled on a first come, first serve basis. All inspections are based on the availability of the Inspectors. The Building Department will make all efforts to honor inspection requests.

Contractors License Required
Contractors, Subcontractors, and Plumbing Contractors must be licensed with the Village. This is for the protection of the resident. Lists of licensed contractors are available at 17 Montrose Drive in the Village Hall Annex building (just west of Village Hall).

Easement Encroachment
No accessory structure or use except fences shall be constructed, occupied or established on any public utility, drainage, or pipeline easement, except with the written permission of all utility companies and the Village having rights to use the easement. Before building permits can be issued, letters must be received from the easement holders.
