The Romeoville Recreation Department
The Romeoville Recreation Department was first established in August of 1965 for the development of diversified programs and activities for residents. The Recreation Center has come a long way to get to its permanent home at 900 W. Romeo Rd.

Aerobics Studio
The Aerobics Studio is used for group fitness classes. A wide range of equipment is available for the variety of classes offered. Maximum occupancy is 45. Click here to find out more about the programs offered in this room!

Art Adventure Room
This room is used for everything varying from community meetings to birthday parties! Maximum occupancy is 25 and includes tables, chairs, a sink, and dry erase board.

Celebration Room
The Celebration Room is where the cake eating and present opening happens during the Jungle Safari Birthday Party Package but is also used for community meetings and the like. Maximum occupancy is 35 and includes tables, chairs, a sink, and dry erase board.

Creative Play Fun and Learning Rooms
The Creative Play Preschool is held in these two rooms, where children ages 3 to 5 years learn, play, and socialize! Tables, chairs, and bathrooms are child-size. Child care is sometimes held in these rooms when scheduled birthday parties impede the use of the Jungle Safari Indoor Playground.

Gymnastics Room
The Gymnastics Room is used for gymnastics and tumbling use for Recreation Department programs, teams, and open gym. The Romeoville Tumbleweeds host Illinois Park District Gymnastics Conference (IPDGC) competitions in the Gymnastics Room. Gymnastics equipment includes standard competition size palmer spring floor, two medium-height practice balance beams, one competition-height balance beam, vaulting table, pommel horse, uneven bars, and single high bar. Maximum occupancy is 100.

Jungle Safari Indoor Playground
Slither through the anaconda slide, listen to the sounds of the jungle and let your imagination go wild! This jungle-themed room is home to the indoor playground which has a slide, climbing ropes, tunnels, and dinosaur inflatable jumpy. This room also has a child-sized bathroom including sink, (adult sized) sink, and toy area. The playground is also used for the Jungle Safari Birthday Party and for child care. Maximum occupancy is 25.

The playground equipment is only for children ages 1 to 12 years. Daily admission fee for the playground is $1 per Romeoville resident child or $2 per non resident child and must be paid in cash. Children must be accompanied by an adult and residents must show proof of Romeoville residency. Participants who bring more than five children to play in the jungle should call ahead.

Any youth group or Day Care Center based in Romeoville may have exclusive use of the playground for an hourly fee during the hours the playground is not open to the public. Please call (815) 886-6222 for more details, availability and prices.

The Jungle Pass
Six visits $5/R-$8/NR
Twelve visits $10/R-$15/NR

Buy a pass and save money! With this pass there is no more waiting in line at the front desk with each visit! Go directly into the Indoor Playground and the attendant will punch your pass for the number of children you have in your group. Jungle Passes may be purchased at the front desk.

Indoor Playground Guidelines
1. Only children ages 1-12 may use the playground. Adults are not allowed on the equipment unless there is a child emergency.
2. All children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
3. Shoes are not allowed in the playground (including adults).
4. Socks must be worn at all times while in the playground.
5. Food or beverage is not allowed.
6. Gum is not allowed. Jungle Safari Hours

Hours are subject to change if attendance warrants or birthday parties are scheduled. Open extended hours on no school days and certain holidays.

Mezzanine
This upstairs mezzanine overlooks the two gyms and gymnastics room and is right next to the Fit 4 Life Fitness Center. This is a nice place to get away from the hustle and bustle of the hallways and watch the activities going on in the three different gymnasiums. Tables and chairs are set out for public use and the mezzanine can be accessed by stairwell or handicap accessible elevator.

Performing Arts Studio
This studio is used year-round for the Recreation Department’s karate and dance programs. Students face a full-wall mirror and practice on hard-wood floors in a private room allowing for their maximum focus and attention. The Performing Arts Studio also hosts the Dance Birthday Party. Maximum occupancy is 40.
