World Wide Day of Play
Celebrate the World Wide Day of Play with the Romeoville Recreation Department and Plainfield Park District on Saturday, October 4th from 9:30-11:30am! Event will be held at Four Seasons Park (Frontage Rd. and Lockport St.) in Plainfield. Activities include playground games, inflatable obstacle course from Party Hoppers, Nature Scavenger Hunt, crafts, Fun Olympics, and giveaways – so come out to this exciting, new event! Fire Prevention Week
2008 Fire Prevention Week Open House is Saturday, October 11 from 12pm-4pm, activities will be held at Station 3, 698 N. Birch. Come enjoy the Romeoville Fire Department for a fun filled day of activities. The day’s events include demonstrations of an auto extrication, residential fire sprinkler, and K9 done by the Fire Department. Come see the equipment, fire truck, meet Sparky the dog. There going to plenty of free giveaways and raffles. There will also be hot dogs and beverages also to enjoy.

Halloween Fest
Join the Recreation Department and the Romeoville Chamber of Commerce for Halloween Fest on Saturday, October 25th from 11:00am to 2:00pm. More information including costume contests, activities, performances, and trick-or-treating will be made available closer to the event. Veterans’ Day
Honor Veterans on Veterans’ Day, Tuesday, November 11, 2008 with the Village of Romeoville at Veteran’s Memorial Garden at 10:00am. For more information call the Recreation Department at (815) 886-6222.

December 2008
Winter Wonderland Festival

Join the Romeoville Recreation Department on Friday, December 5th for the Winter Wonderland Festival. This improved Winter Wonderland runs from 6:00pm to 9:00pm and has many new festivities both inside and outside! There is a fee for the inside activities - fee varies by age group and residency. Register by November 16th for a discounted rate! Indoor activities include picture with Santa, inflatables, gift from Santa for each child, real reindeer (picture with reindeer for an additional fee), train rides, story time by Fountaindale Public Library, crafts, Book Fair from Usborne Books at Home, concessions available for purchase, Recreation class demonstrations, and kids entertainment. Participants must be pre-registered for the indoor activities. Outdoor activities include hot chocolate and cookies, music, holiday hay rides, holiday craft vendors, and the annual Tree Lighting Ceremony. The Tree Lighting Ceremony will be at 6:30pm in front of the Recreation Department at (815) 886-6222 for more information.
 
Tree Lighting Ceremony
The annual Tree Lighting Ceremony will take place on Friday, December 5, 2008 outside the Romeoville Recreation Center during the Winter Wonderland Festival. The Tree Lighting Ceremony will be at 6:30pm in front of the Recreation Center. Call the Recreation Department at (815)-886-6222 for more information.
