Community Garage Sale

Truckin’ 5K Fun Fair and Business Expo

Fun Fair and Business Expo: 9:00am-1:00pm
Join the inaugural Truckin’ 5K in conjunction with the Village of Romeoville’s Chamber of Commerce Fun Fair and Business Expo. Runners of all ages are welcome. The race route is the same as the previous Cinco de Mayo Run, which includes multi-terrain course. New to the course will be optional obstacles for those looking for an extra challenge. Giveaways will be given to the first 200 racers. Register online at www.romeoville.org or stop at the recreation center. Packets can be picked up on site on race day.  Awards will be given to the first place overall male and female runner and the top three male and female finishers in each age group. The Fun Fair and Business Expo includes touch a truck, inflatables, face painting, craft area, DJ, food, children’s entertainment and games! Route 66 Car Show

Ladies and gentlemen, start your engines because the show’s about to begin. That’s right, it’s time for the new Route 66 Car Show (formerly known as the Downtown Redevelopment Car Show).

Whether you own a car, you are a car enthusiast, or you are simply just looking for a day out on the town, this is one event you cannot miss! This event has fun that is sure to appeal to all ages! Enjoy micro-reality racing by P&G Speedway between 11:00am and 3:00pm. There are many classes of vehicles being shown such as classic, customs, antique, muscle, even motorcycles and jeeps. Rockin’ the Ville – American English

The show begins with the early years of Ed Sullivan and includes classic Beatle favorites such as She Loves You, Twist and Shout, I Want To Hold Your Hand, and many others. American English captures the very essence of John, Paul, George and Ringo!

Next, you’ll take a trip with American English as they recreate the psychedelic era of The Beatles. Every musical and visual detail is magically shaped in a colorful journey back in time. You’ll witness incredible versions of selections from Sgt. Pepper and Magical Mystery Tour. All the songs are performed completely live without any tapes or backing tracks.

And in the end, you’ll be transformed to a spectacular musical excursion of the final years of The Beatles partnership. Relive the years of The White Album, Let It Be, and Abbey Road. Moving renditions of songs such as Hey Jude, Something, and Let It Be, are sure to complete the tribute to The Beatles!

It’s time to get all amped up for a night of sports! Join the Romeoville Recreation Department and the Lockport Township Park District for a night of intense sport activities. You’ll be sure to score because there will be a BMX Stunt Show, Jesse White Tumblers, inflatables, and even a chance to meet some Chicago team mascots. Use strategic tactics to stay all three hours, because you’ll be sitting on the edge of your seat the entire event. SPORTS-N-SUCH WILL PROVE TO BE A VICTORY! Rockin’ the Ville – Hi Infidelity

Hi Infidelity™ is a cover band from the Chicago area, playing music of all types, but mostly from the 80s Rock period. Journey, REO Speedwagon, Bon Jovi and Boston to name a few. For six consecutive years, the band was voted as the Best Rock Cover Band, and singer Dave Mikulskis is a five time winner as Best Male Vocalist. In 2010 and 2011, Bobby Scumaci was voted Best Keyboardist in Suburban NiteLife Magazine’s Best of the Burbs contest!

Going to a Hi Infidelity show is a total concert experience from start to finish, with a wide variety of songs and fans. Not only do they cover the classics but are currently playing new music like Daughtry, Nickelback, Buckcherry and Train. The band prides itself on recreating the songs as you know them. If you love great vocals and harmonies, 80s Rock and the best new music, come to a show and you’ll see that Hi Infidelity has really got it covered.

Romeoville Aquathon

Join the Romeoville Recreation Department, Lockport Township, and DuPage Township at this new charity event! The Mini Aquathon is for athletes age 10 and up, and consists of a 300 yard swim and 5K run, both chip-timed. Registration fee is $30 per individual and $40 per team of two. Also bring two canned or dry food items as part of the registration fee. Proceeds will benefit the DuPage Township and Lockport Township food pantries. RomeoFest
Join the Village of Romeoville for four days of carnival rides, live music, tournaments, food, children’s entertainment, bingo, and fun! RomeoFest will be held on the Recreation Department’s and Village Hall’s grounds (900 and 1050 W. Romeo Road) beginning Thursday, August 1st through Sunday, August 4th. Fest activities open at 5:00pm on Thursday and Friday and at noon on Saturday and Sunday with the activities changing daily. Click here for the most updated schedule of events.

Live band performances every day of the fest at the amphitheater include a wide range of music styles, from country to classic rock, oldies to eighties, and much, much more! Concert times change daily, so check out the schedule of events for the most updated times.

In addition to the carnival, various children’s activities consist of magic shows, animal shows, face painting, human sphere races, and more. Make sure to see the two fireworks shows this year, one on Friday night and one to close the fest on Sunday night, both beginning at 9:30pm.

Carnival Mega Passes are available for purchase beginning July 5th until Wednesday, July 31st at the Recreation Center, for $45 (cash only) during regular business hours: Monday through Friday 9:00am-9:00pm and Saturday through Sunday 9:00am-5:00pm. They are good for unlimited carnival rides during regular carnival hours for all four days of the fest. Once the fest starts, Mega Passes will be sold at the carnival ticket booth at an increased price of $50.

The free RomeoFest Shuttle Bus service runs Friday, August 2nd and Saturday, August 3rd from 6:00pm until 11:30pm; and Sunday, August 4th from 5:00pm until 10:00pm. Services are for adults and children age 5 years and older. Youth 16 and under must be accompanied by an adult.

SEMPLE lets you experience Keith in what he describes as his “natural environment.” With a whole set of new music and a brand new line up of top Chicago musicians, it doesn’t get any more entertaining than this!

Rockin’ the Ville – Banda Rika

Celebrate Hispanic Heritage month! Banda Rika is a Latin band with a powerful, versatile and highly entertaining dance show that can be found performing their blend of Latin music at clubs, dances, conventions, festivals and private events throughout the Chicagoland area.

Banda Rika’s music repertoire consists of Salsa, Merengue, Cumbia and Bachata. In order to create the spicy, jazzy sounds of Salsa and the tantalizing rhythmic percussions of Merengue, the band is composed of a 10-piece Orchestra and a two person front line. Banda Rika’s complete entertainment show and versatility really offer a refreshing change to today’s other musical choices.
