A new Metra Station will soon service Romeoville and surrounding Will County communities. The new station, with a parking lot for 600, will be located on 135th Street on the Citgo Refinery property. Engineering is underway with construction anticipated for 2013. There are a lot of interesting, educational and just plain fun things to do in Illinois and Metra being local can get you where you want to go. The 495-mile Metra system serves 230 stations in the counties of Cook, DuPage, Lake, Will, McHenry and Kane. Once on Metra you can reach Chicago's beautiful lake front, museums, zoos, events, shops and restaurants, schools as well as quaint, historic suburbs and small towns. In some cases, Metra can take you practically to the front door or your destination is easily in reach via Pace buses, and/or CTA buses and trains.

The Village of Romeoville, Will County and the Village of Bolingbrook are the recipients of over $130 million dollars for the reconstruction of the Weber Road and I-55 Interchange. Phase I engineering has begun on the Airport Road/IL 126 Interchange. The new interchange at Airport Road and improvements to Route 126 will facilitate better traffic flow and access for all of northwestern Will County, as well as enhance traffic safety by reducing congestion. Romeoville is home to the Joliet Regional Port District Airport which has played an important role in the Village's history and maintains a strong presence in the community.
