SAMSUNG

Samsung. M.I.Q, a 3rd party logistics company, signed a new agreement with Samsung North America to handle distribution of their Electronics, IT and Home appliance products. They have leased a 650,000 square foot building in Pizzuti’s Pinnacle Business Park. This facility will handle all aspects of receiving, inventory control, transportation management and shipping to all of Samsung’s customers in the United States.

The warehouse itself, constructed by Pizzuti has one of the highest LEED certifications available, with an expected savings of 40% on utilities through the usage of natural light, increased wall and roof thickness along with a high efficient H.V.A.C system were significant factors in Samsung’s building choice. During the first quarter of 2012, the largest rooftop solar panel system in the state is slated to be constructed which will further reduce the utility costs of the building and provide cheaper cleaner energy for use by Com Ed to supply to the community. Samsung may exercise their rights to expand the facility to over 1 million square feet as early as 2013. The facility is expected to employ approximately 300 during peak seasons.

FEDEX

FedEx will be investing over $37 million dollars into nearly 250,000 s.f. in the Pinnacle Business Park. This project is expected to bring nearly 400 jobs to Romeoville.
