The Village of Romeoville Parks and Recreation Department is accepting resumes for a part-time Fitness Coordinator. This position is an hourly, permanent part-time position, requiring a minimum of 20 hours per week. Bachelor’s degree in Recreation or related field preferred. Minimum of one year of recreation and/or fitness management experience required. Must have an understanding of fitness administration, budgeting, facility management, and customer service, in addition to general programming skills and special event coordination.
The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic, creative, organized, and flexible individual. They must be safety-minded, possess excellent customer service skills, and have the desire to promote fitness and health awareness throughout the Department and community.
Under the direction of the Superintendent of Recreation, the responsibilities of this position include the management of all operations of the Department’s 3,000 square foot Fit 4 Life Fitness Center. This includes, but is not limited to, staffing – hiring, training, scheduling, evaluation and discipline; membership management; personal training program management; programming and implementation of group fitness classes; and the recommendation and purchasing of equipment and supplies.
Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills, basic computer knowledge in Windows applications, and recreation software experience. CPR/AED certification required, or the ability to obtain certification within three months of employment.

The Romeoville Recreation Department is currently seeking part-time experienced, highly motivated, energetic, and responsible gymnastics instructors. Ability to effectively communicate with participants, parents, and staff is crucial. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to: assist with the instruction, coaching, and evaluation of participants; daily instruction and spotting; work individually with participants to help them progress; assist with preparation and set-up of gymnastics equipment; assist with preparation of lesson plans; maintain accurate records; and follows all safety policies and procedures.
