I-55 & Weber Road Interchange

The reconstruction of the Weber Road and I-55 Interchange is underway. 

The goal of this project is to ease congestion by adding additional lanes of traffic on Weber Road from 135th Street to 119th Street and rebuilding the I-55 Interchange. 

In an effort to assist both businesses and residents through this project, useful information and contact info has been posted below.

PROJECT UPDATES AND DOCUMENTS:

I-55 & WEBER ROAD RECONSTRUCTION PROJECT STATUS SUMMARY AS OF 10/08/19

North Section

  • Temporary pavement for staging continues to be constructed. 
  • Temporary traffic signals were completed in September. 
  • Embankment work for bridge is proceeding and bridge substructure work is proceeding at center pier, including crash wall construction.
  • Asphalt to be removed north of bridge in closed portion. 
  • Water main work to be performed along Normantown.

South Section

  • ComEd completed their removals. 
  • Sanitary work and water main work can be completed in slough area. 
  • Pond is being excavated in car wash area. 
  • Ground improvement work can begin upon IDOT approval of plan.
