Due to the guidelines put out by the Governor, the Romeoville Recreation Department and Athletic and Event Center has made necessary modifications to our programs and services. Please read below for an update of all program and service areas affected by these new mitigation efforts.
Fit 4 Life Fitness Center: The fitness center is currently open Monday through Friday from 5:00am-9:30pm and open on Saturday and Sunday from 8:00am-7:00pm. Reservations are still be required to attend. Masks are required to be worn at all times.
Athletic and Event Center Training: The Romeoville Athletic and Event Center is now accepting rentals for turf and courts. For more information on rates and times please contact 815.552.3283.
Group X Classes: Group fitness classes are currently available. Masks are required at all times.
Ride Around Town: Ride Around Town is available. Masks will be required at all times.
Facility Rentals: The Romeoville Recreation Department is booking rentals for our Drdak room - 40 people maximum capacity and the Bodine room – 25 people maximum capacity. Host your next birthday, shower or family gathering at the Recreation Center. The gymnasium is also available to rent for sport activities only. Deposit and hourly fees apply. Please call 815.886.6222 for more information or to make a reservation.
Private Lessons: Private lessons are available for those students looking for one-on-one instruction to further develop their skills. Private lessons are available for gymnastics and dance.

Playgrounds & Trails: Playgrounds and trails remain open. Please adhere to tier 1 mitigations when using playgrounds. Practice social distancing and wear a mask.
Temperature Screening:
- Upon entering the building, stand in front of the contactless self-screener
- Follow directions on scanner
- If temperature is under 100.4, please proceed inside the building
- If temperature is 100.4 or above, you will not be allowed to proceed inside the building and need to leave immediately
Masks:
- Masks are required at ALL times inside the building
- Masks are required for anyone above the age of 2
- Anyone that does not wear a mask will be asked to leave the building
ROMEOVILLE PARKS & RECREATION DEPARTMENT
The Romeoville Parks and Recreation Department offers a multitude of events, recreational programs, and community services for residents and visitors to enjoy with the mission of improving the quality of life for all community members. From concerts to carnivals, the Recreation Department hosts over thirty special events for all ages and interests including the Village’s annual festival, RomeoFest. The Recreation Department also offers hundreds of athletic and special interest recreational programs for all age groups as well a variety of community services to better serve residents and visitors.
Since its establishment in 1965 the Romeoville Parks and Recreation Department has continued to evolve alongside its residents. Beginning in a basement office of the Village Hall, and eventually moving into the newly built Romeoville Recreation Center in 1978 the department has continued to grow with the community. In 2001, the Recreation Center fulfilled additions and renovations and reopened as it stands today.
