The Illinois Department of Transportation will begin the patching and resurfacing of Route 53 from University Parkway to Romeo Road beginning May 31. It will require intermittent daytime lane closures. Along with the resurfacing, IDOT will be making ADA improvements and installing rumble strips and illuminated street name signs along the road. Access to residences and businesses within the work zone will be maintained throughout construction. The project is anticipated to be completed in late September.
