[ARCHIVED] Parkway Tree Trimming

Tree Trimming

The Public Works Department will begin pruning parkway trees on the South side of town beginning Monday, September 30th. Crews will begin on the streets closest to Rte. 53 and head West working up and down each street South of 135th St. to Belmont Dr. over the next few weeks. Once this first zone is completed, the crews will continue to move West throughout the neighborhoods of Poplar Ridge, Heritage Place and Malibu Bay (additional notice will be provided as crews move into Zone 2).

Residents can assist the crews by not parking vehicles on the street in front of parkway tree.

Pruning is a necessary part of maintaining a healthy tree. Proper pruning will enhance the heath of a tree by removing dead and diseased limbs along with removing overcrowded and crossing limbs, allow for a safe clearance by vehicular and pedestrian traffic, ensure signage is visible in the parkway, and overall improve the aesthetics of the tree.
