Why are there so many cones and flags throughout the subdivision?

Beginning the week of March 10th, weather permitting, Public Works will be in your subdivision replacing traffic and street name signs. We will be replacing the mounting poles and faded signs bringing them up to new standards. This process will take a few weeks and in doing so we need to have all underground utilities marked and located. You will see many different colored flags marking the utilities in the parkways. The holes for the new street sign poles will be very small and usually close to the old existing signs, so not much grass will be disturbed. You will also see orange traffic cones marking old and new sign pole bases for trip hazards. All flags, cones and old sign poles will be removed and the area will be restored in perfect condition as we move through the area.
