Why are there so many cones and flags throughout the subdivision?

Weather permitting, Public Works will be in the below subdivision replacing traffic and street name signs.  We will be replacing the mounting poles and faded signs bringing them up to new standards. This process will take a week or so and in doing so we need to have all underground utilities marked and located. You will see many different colored flags marking the utilities in the parkways. The holes for the new street sign poles will be very small and usually close to the old existing signs, so not much grass will be disturbed. You will also see orange traffic cones marking old and new sign pole bases for trip hazards. All flags, cones and old sign poles will be removed and the area will be restored in perfect condition as we move through the area. See below for the maps of the areas we'll be working in.
