[ARCHIVED] Mayor Noak, Trustee Griffin Appointed to National and State Committees

Appointees

Mayor John Noak has been appointed to the National League of Cities (NLC) 2019 Transportation and Infrastructure Services (TIS) federal advocacy committee. This committee has the lead responsibility for developing NLC’s federal policy positions on issues involving transportation, including planning, funding, safety and security of public transit, streets and highways, aviation, railroads and ports.

“I’m honored to be appointed to this important committee for the National League of Cities,” said Mayor Noak. “I am happy to represent the residents of Romeoville and communities like ours on it.” As a TIS committee member, Mayor Noak will play a key role in shaping NLC’s policy positions and advocate on behalf of America’s cities and towns before Congress, with the administration and at home.

Mayor Noak also serves on the Council on Youth, Families and Education, and the University Communities Council. Earlier this year he was re-appointed to the executive board of the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning and re-elected Chairman of the Des Plaines River Valley Enterprise Zone.

Trustee Ken Griffin was re-appointed to the Illinois Municipal League (IML) Land Use Policy Committee for 2019. Members of this committee are local government leaders who are committed to the IML and its mission. The Land Use Policy Committee provides support to IML Legislative Committees and the Board of Directors.
