After a recent social media trend caused an increase in theft of Kia and Hyundai vehicles, the Romeoville Police Department has partnered with the Kia Corporation and Hyundai Motor Company to provide free steering wheel locks as a theft deterrent.
If you are a Romeoville resident with a Kia or Hyundai vehicle (model year 2011-2021), then we have a wheel lock for you! The Romeoville Police Department will be giving the locks away for free on Monday, March 20th from 4 pm - 6 pm in the east parking lot of village hall (1050 W. Romeo Rd.)
To qualify for this giveaway, you must be a Romeoville resident and own a 2011-2021 Kia or Hyundai vehicle with a standard key start ignition system. ***Please bring proof of both to the giveaway event.*** The event is first come, first served for the first 75 vehicles.
