Judge Paula Gomora did the honors of swearing in the Mayor, Clerk, and three Village Trustees for new terms in during the board meeting on May 3rd.
Mayor John Noak is starting his third term. He has a long history of community involvement, starting with appointments to various commissions. He was elected as a Village Trustee in 2005 before being appointed Mayor in February 2008. He was then elected to the position in April 2009 and won re-election in April 2013. Mayor Noak has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from DePaul University and a Master’s degree in Public Administration from the University of Illinois at Chicago.
Dr. Bernice Holloway has served in her position since being appointed in November 2010. She holds a Doctorate and Master’s degree in Educational Administration and Supervision from Roosevelt University.
Trustee Dave Richards was first appointed as a Village Trustee in September 2008. He has served on numerous commissions and committees during this time.
Trustee Jose Chavez served as a Trustee from 1994-1996 and was elected to serve again as Trustee in 2008. He has been involved in various organizations in the community.
Trustee Brian Clancy was first appointed in July 2008. He has lived in town for nearly his entire life and his father, Stephen, was one of the original volunteer firefighters for the village.
“We have a great team guiding Romeoville and I’m thrilled to have this group returning for another term,” said Mayor Noak, “I’m looking forward to a very productive third term as mayor and continuing to make Romeoville a top place to live and do business.”
