The Village of Romeoville has a few online registries that may apply to you or a loved one.
The Senior/Special Needs Registry is designed for residents who are seniors or have special medical needs (important medications, medical devices, or other requirements). The form will be submitted to the police and fire departments so that emergency responders will know ahead of time about any special circumstances they may encounter when responding to a call at your home.
The Veterans Registry will notify veterans in town of special programs and opportunities available for those who have served our country in the armed services.
The No Solicitor Registry is aimed at preventing solicitors from visiting your residence. When solicitors register for a permit, they will receive a copy of addresses they are not to visit. Yours will be among them.
Building permits are required for most home improvements so that the building inspectors may inspect for safety, zoning, compliance etc.
The Romeoville Police Department offers, free-of-charge, counseling services to residents. A licensed Clinical Social Worker is on staff full-time and can assist with family counseling, domestic violence and drug abuse. All services are confidential.
The Village of Romeoville has joined many local law enforcement agencies by instituting a collection box for unwanted, unused and expired medicines. It is located in the lobby of the Romeoville Police Dept., 1050 W. Romeo Rd.
The drug collection box is located near the glass partition separating the police department from Village Hall.

WHY IS IT IMPORTANT?Properly disposing of medicines is important to prevent abuse or poisoning and protect the environment. Prescription drug abuse is a growing problem, especially among teens, and accidental poisonings from medicines are on the rise. Medicines flushed down the drain or disposed of in the trash can pollute bodies of water, harm wildlife and end up in drinking water supplies.
